Behind the Scenes: A Day in the Life at The Rocket Apparel

Ever wonder what goes into creating the custom tees you love? Spoiler alert: it’s a whole lot more than pressing "print."

At The Rocket Apparel, every shirt tells a story, but behind every story is a team, a process, and a little organized chaos. Today, we’re pulling back the curtain and giving you an exclusive look at what a typical day looks like inside our studio.

9:00 AM — Fuel First, Always

Our mornings start with coffee. Lots of it. The team rolls in, playlists go on, and we scroll through new orders while answering DMs, comments, and custom requests. If you’ve ever messaged us with a funny phrase or sent in a design idea, this is when we’re reading it!

10:00 AM — Design Mode Activated

This is where the creativity kicks in. Whether it’s a custom phrase from a customer, a seasonal drop, or a viral comment we had to turn into a shirt, we spend the morning playing with fonts, layouts, and colors. We keep it fresh, funny, and a little chaotic, just how we like it.

Got an inside joke? A weird idea? We’ve probably tried mocking it up by now.

12:00 PM — Print Time

Once designs are locked in, we move into production. Each shirt is printed individually using high-quality, direct-to-garment methods. No mass production here — every piece is made with intention, one at a time.

We inspect every shirt before and after printing, making sure the details are crisp and the colors pop. It’s part art, part science, and totally satisfying to watch.

2:00 PM — Pack, Prep, Ship

With freshly printed tees stacked and sorted, it’s time for packaging. We pack each order with care (and the occasional sticker or surprise), print labels, and get everything ready to head out the door. Most of our orders ship within a couple of days, because waiting sucks.

3:30 PM — Content Chaos

Afternoons are for TikToks, behind-the-scenes snaps, and scheduling posts. If you’ve seen videos of us printing funny comments, unboxing custom designs, or asking for phrase suggestions, this is when the magic (and laughter) happens.

5:00 PM — Wrap-Up + Random Ideas

Before we shut it down, we huddle to chat new ideas, weird customer requests we loved, or trends we want to jump on. No two days are the same here, and that’s exactly why we love it.
